Your Downtown Leduc & Camrose Bodyworkers
Eminence Wellness Inc. is owned and operated by Shelbie Hunter. She is a Registered Massage Therapist and a Certified Reflexologist; and is currently studying for the title Certified Aromatherapist, which will add a lot of exciting new oils to our holistic journeys! She will learn to match the oils to your aliments, and be trained to mix up blends.
Shelbie is a member in good standing with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC). Shelbie offers her services both in Leduc, and in Camrose where she grew up.
Shelbie crafts her style of massage by blending therapeutic and deep tissue techniques, also offering relaxation massage. Her approach includes trigger point therapy, cupping, reflexology and aromatherapy.
She graduated from Vicars School of Massage Therapy in 2017 at the top of her class, and has been massaging full time since. In 2022, she earned the title of Certified Reflexologist, after completing "Reflexology Certification with Musculoskeletal Specialization", through the Therapeutic Reflexology Institute. In 2023, she completed another 8 month certification through the TRI - reflexology of the hands. Shelbie graduated with honors from the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada in 2021, but currently does not offer this modality. Additionally, Shelbie has a diploma in hospitality, and has over 2 decades of experience in the service industry - giving her top notch people skills.
When not working with clients, she enjoys time with her husband, son, family and friends, and 2 little dogs; exploring nature, practicing yoga, golfing, reading/researching, keeping an aquarium and many plants, cheering for The Oilers, and playing keyboard.
Nicole Ireland is a Registered Massage Therapist and a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Nikki graduated with honors from the 3000 hour MaKami College Massage program in 2020; and completed her lymphedema certification in 2023. (Scroll down for description on what lymph work entails). Nikki is a member in good standing with the Certified Registered Massage Therapist Association of Alberta.
Nikki’s journey has lead her to a place of being able to help guide and support others, using massage and lymph work as tools to aid in clients‘ overall wellbeing. Her passion for bodywork stems from a desire to help people, while continuing to expand her already vast knowledge about the complex human body.
Chantelle graduated as an RMT from MaKami College in 2024. She chose this path because she is passionate about helping people feel their best, and she believes in the healing benefits of therapeutic massage therapy. As she continues to grow as a massage therapist, she looks forward to taking more courses to further her education, adding more tools toward giving the best possible client care.

Massage therapy has countless benefits. To name a few, it can help a person to move better, increasing range of motion in joints by releasing muscle restrictions and knots. You will likely sleep better, have better posture, and be more aware of your own body and how to listen to it.
Massage lessens symptoms of depression and anxiety, rids the body of cellular debris and metabolic wastes, enhances the development of children easing growing pains, and so much more. The benefits of massage are vast, and almost anyone can benefit from this holistic form of healthcare. If you have a heart condition or other major medical concerns, please check with your physician that massage is safe for you before booking.
Your therapist will discuss what's going on with you, and how you're feeling before the massage; and will do her very best to ensure that the treatment suits your needs that day.
We provide extra wide, electric massage tables for our clients, so anyone can get on and off the table with ease. The tables are heated and padded, they are delightful to be on. Strong and sturdy, these tables do not shift and can lower almost to the floor.

A practice dating back around 5000 years; cupping combines deeper massage techniques with the cups, lifting the tissues to allow new circulation into the area. Perfect for busting up knots and adhesions in the muscular and fascial systems, ridding the body of metabolic wastes, increasing your range of motion, and (bonus!) smoothing out cellulite. Great for tendinitis/CTS. People often feel much more flexible after cupping. The cups easily slide over bone, getting into your tendons and ligaments. Cupping gets in deep to relieve those aches and pains. Make sure to come in hydrated and plan to drink a lot of water after. It's awesome! No extra charge.
Ah, aromatherapy. What could be better than these medicinal treasures from Mother Nature. Aroma is said to influence the state of mind, and promote a sense of physical and emotional wellbeing.
Essential oils are composed of many constituents that have therapeutic properties. Some of the main properties of essential oils are:
· Analgesic · Antiseptic · Anti-inflammatory · Antidepressant · Sedative · Stimulant · Digestive · Antifungal · Immunostimulant · Decongestant · Disinfectant · Aphrodisiac
This service offering is Young Living's Raindrop Technique ® Created by Dr. Gary Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils.
Paired with massage and vitaflex techniques, raindrop massage is a rejuvenating experience that incorporates 9 essential oils into your massage.
The raindrop oils: Thyme, Oregano, Cypress, Wintergreen, Basil, Peppermint, Marjoram, Aroma Siez, and Valor.
Mixing essential oils can be tricky, you don't want to just mix up random oils, but you can be assured that this technique is tried, tested and true.
Raindrop can be combined with deep tissue or relaxation massage, we add the oils to the massage and they blend together to create balance and harmony to body and mind.
The raindrop blend is said to create structural and electrical alignment in the body. We use only 100% therapeutic grade essential oils with no cheap fillers. The oils are dropped onto you like little raindrops during your massage. It's pure bliss!
Here at Eminence, we have invested in Jade stones for this service, stones that are considered sacred in some parts of the world. These smooth, beautiful stones can be added to either Deep Tissue or Swedish Massage. The stones are heated to a safe and monitored temperature, and placed on you as well as used with oils to soothe, warm, and massage your muscles.
One stroke with a hot stone is said to be equivalent to 7 regular massage strokes. This allows your body to relax, releasing tension and stress. The stones are great for easing the muscle and calming the mind, before going in with a deeper stroke, achieving a fabulous result from the massage.
Mined in Burma, Jade stones are known in some cultures as "the stones of heaven". They are non-porous, therefore easy to clean and do not trap any bacteria or skin cells. Hot stone massages are amazing - You'll love it!
Deep Tissue Massage uses slow, deep strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (connective tissue). It is used to break down knots and relieve trigger points throughout the body, realigning muscle fibers. This massage is beneficial for those who sit for long periods of time, people with chronic aches and pains, and contracted, stiff areas that won't let up.
Our RMT will communicate with you and intuitively feel your body's response, and adjust pressure accordingly to your level of comfort, as she moves through long, slow, deep strokes to reach deeper layers of soft tissue. Cupping is often a wonderful addition to deep tissue massage, see above for description.
The goal of Swedish (Relaxation) Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Long, gliding strokes will make you feel wonderful. Swedish Massage is extremely beneficial, as it decreases muscle toxins, increases blood and lymph circulation, increases oxygen levels in the blood (and therefore the muscles), and improves flexibility in the body.
Swedish (Relaxation) Massage does not focus on deep layers and working out "knots" like deep tissue massage, therefore is great for those who want to bring down their stress level, zone out, or if you're new to massage and don't know what to expect. This is also the massage we do on children, to get them used to massage therapy and grow to love it.
Our RMT will communicate with you and intuitively feel your body's response, to know what you need, and adjust pressure accordingly. This is a great way to begin your self-care with massage therapy, or just de-stress and enjoy. Not everyone responds to deep massage, and it's our job to tune in to what you need. Let us relax you.
The body is a fascinating machine. Dr. William Fitzgerald introduced Reflexology to the USA in 1913.
Reflexology is based on the principle that organs and glands throughout the body are connected to reflex points in the feet, hands and ears. Here, we practice hand and/or foot reflexology. This can be done as a stand alone treatment, or added to any massage with Shelbie.
The feet (and hands) mirror the body, and by working specific reflex points, our reflexologist can help encourage your body to relieve stress and tension, improve nerve and blood supply, and in general help the body to normalize.
In a Cochrane Collaboration review, reflexology is defined as follows: "Reflexology is gentle manipulation or pressing on certain parts of the foot to produce an effect elsewhere in the body." How does this happen? Well, a reflex is an involuntary action. When a ball comes flying at your face, you'll blink. When you touch something hot, you pull your hand off. You don't have to think about doing it, it just happens. Reflexology works like that. It connects A (the reflex point) to B (the organ, gland etc) involuntarily while you relax.
Reflexology is also awesome because it can be done to help facilitate healing, when the area is too sore to receive other treatments (like massage). For example - maybe you have a torn muscle or a broken bone in a cast. We can work those reflexes in your feet or hands while you're waiting to be healed enough to do massage, physio, chiro etc.
Reflexology will not cure or specifically treat any disease or condition, but rather will help to promote a state of harmony between mind, body and emotions.
Reflexology helps to initiate an alpha state (the state of relaxation before falling asleep). It is not intended to diagnose or treat any specific condition. But because stress is the root of many health issues - helping the body to normalize, circulate better, and lower stress is very beneficial to overall wellbeing.
Anyone can have Reflexology - it does not interfere with any medications, and is safe for anyone regardless of their age, or state of health.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is NOT a massage. It is important to know that this is a very light, skin stretching technique that encourages the optimal flow of lymph through the lymphatic system.
So what does that mean? Well to sum it up - the lymphatic system is the immune system. The spleen, tonsils and thymus gland are part of the lymphatic (immune) system. Lymph fluid is kind of like the body's janitor. It is similar to blood in the way that it circulates through the body. It is a fluid that moves along slowly through it's vessels, picking up pathogens, and taking them to the lymph nodes (think of nodes as a filter), where the pathogens are to be destroyed. This prevents us from becoming ill.
Eventually, after passing through the lymph nodes, the lymph fluid meets up with our blood, and from there all the destroyed and remaining pathogens and such are expelled from the body via other systems. From start to finish, an MLD treatment can encourage the body to let this process to happen faster/more efficiently. A treatment is relaxing and beneficial.
The lymphatic (immune) system working efficiently is highly important to overall health. Some people need assistance with this, and almost anyone can benefit from a boost.
If you are someone who is prone to minor illness (say you always have a cold), has swelling, feels sluggish, or has just recovered from an illness like say the flu, you can benefit from this treatment. If you have any major health concerns, please check with your doctor that MLD is ok for you to receive before booking. Don't hesitate to send us a message with any questions!
Our reflexologist is flexible - reflexology can be offered as a stand alone hour treatment, or you can have a shorter sequence added on to the end of a massage. When you book in, just choose which option you would like under the category 'Reflexology'.
